Do you ever have the days when you wake up and the day seems to be doomed before it's even begun. You wake up grumpy, maybe your late or maybe someone startles you out of your sleep. Then every step you take seems to go wrong. You can't find your favorite shirt. You spill your coffee while trying to answer your emails. The shower seems cold, your deodorant explodes all over the floor. And even without all of this happening you just felt down to begin with. This is the perfect time to get in a quiet spot and spend time with God. Your entire day will follow the same path if you don't have a quick change of attitude. I love to turn on some worship music and remind myself of how good God is even when I am not. How he brings peace and joy to his children. Here are a couple of great bible versus to meditate on.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Psalm 46:1-3,7
Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail). Psalm 55:22 (AMP)
“The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. 2 Tim 1:7 (AMP)
I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Psalm 16:8 (AMP)
The Lord cares about every detail of our lives. He cares that your day hasn't started great, but he's ready to teach you how to live in the power of the Holy Spirit even when nothing goes right. We can walk in joy, peace, patience, self-control, hope and love in the midst of any trouble. These times are great training ground to succeed when life really hits you hard. If you can be faithful in the small, you will be faithful in the larger. As a christian I think we all hope to respond by faith when something bad happens in our life. Let this bad day be the start of walking by faith and not by sight.
God is good and in control at all times!
